DICOMweb is het deel van de DICOM-standaard voor webgebaseerde medische beeldvorming: een verzameling RESTful services\nwaarmee webontwikkelaars met gangbare tools met medische beelden kunnen werken.[3] DICOMweb kan\nrechtstreeks worden geïmplementeerd of als proxy voor de klassieke DIMSE-services, zodat niet alle beeldproducerende\nmodaliteiten moeten worden aangepast.[3] Het nieuwe IHE-profiel MADO haalt DICOM-objecten op afstand op\nvia een geprofileerde DICOMweb WADO-RS-transactie (zie IHE-beeldvormingsprofielen (XDS-I.b, XCA-I, MADO)).[4]

Een Belgisch DICOM-profiel of een Belgische implementatiegids voor beeldvorming werd niet gevonden (hiaat, geen bewijs\nvan afwezigheid). Hoe de hubs beelden technisch ontsluiten, is niet publiek gedocumenteerd: de verwerkte bronnen tonen\nenkel dat CoZo een beeld opent in een apart browservenster via de viewer van het producerende ziekenhuis.[5]\n[6] Zie Beelduitwisseling (medische beelden en beeldvormingsverslagen) voor de volledige Belgische praktijk.

In zijn standpunt over de EHDS vraagt België per relevant veld één Europese gestructureerde waardenset, bij voorkeur op\nbasis van SNOMED CT, LOINC, DICOM en ISO.[7] Ook integratie-engines die in de Belgische zorg worden\ngebruikt, vermelden DICOM bij de ondersteunde berichtstandaarden (zie Integratie-engine (interface engine)).[8]

Europese context (EHDS)

De eHN-richtlijn over medische beeldvormingsstudies en -verslagen omvat alle DICOM-objecten, onder meer uit radiologie,\nechografie, nucleaire geneeskunde, cardiologie, endoscopie, mammografie en tandheelkunde.[2]\nXt-EHR-deliverable D7.2 geeft richtlijnen over te gebruiken internationale standaarden zoals HL7 FHIR, DICOM,\nIHE-integratieprofielen, LOINC en SNOMED CT; het document van september 2025 is een consultatiedocument.[9]\nZie EEHRxF (European EHR Exchange Format) en EHDS (European Health Data Space) voor de tijdlijn (beeldvorming vanaf 26 maart 2031).[10]
